God's Special Blessings

Scripture:
1 If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God:
Observation:
When I read the part about "high above all the nations on earth." I think of the U.S.A. and how it has come to be a true world power. Our country for a long time followed God and His ways and we became a hugely successful nation. Our influence is world wide. But now God has been taken out of our schools and the enemy runs over our children daily. The words in this scripture are still true to this day. As long as we had God foremost in our country, he blessed us and we prospered. Now look whats happened.
The same thing can be said of our homes. Do we have God as the leader of our homes or do we let the enemy control our families? Video games, TV, too little discipline.... As long as we place God first, above ALL things in our homes and those of our families, then He will bless us in many ways. When we let the evil one in, then we lose God's special blessings for our home.
Application:
Stop worrying about what others think. Keeping our children from the lies of society is one of our first duties as a parent. I don't care if my father-in-law thinks I'm too strict, or my cousin says I'm holding my kids back by not letting them read porn online. My job is to raise them up in God's way. I can not let everyone else dictate how I set my standards. When I look at theirs, I should realize how they have fallen and take steps to insure my family has much better. The ultimate good, God's very best for them!
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for giving us a true standard we can use to measure the world by. We realize Father that only You can keep us safe from the evils in the world and we pray Lord that you would guard us by helping us to make good godly decisions on what we allow not just our children, but ourselves to do, say and think. Praise you Lord for all these awesome miracles in Jesus name, AMEN!
