What God wants

Scripture:
I came down from heaven to do what God wants me to do, not what I want to do. [John 6:38]

Observation:
Wow. What a statement. Jesus Himself said that He did not come to do what he wants to do but what God wants Him to do. If even Jesus subborned His desires to the Father, then that speaks loudly to me that I need to do the same.

Application:
This is a hard one. Again I have to die to self and forget about what I want from life. I have to think about what it is that Gods wants from me. How does He want me to handle a given situation? What a tough call. Putting my pride and self-centeredness on the side to do what He wants. If Jesus did it, then I need to do it also.

Prayer:
Father, help me! My pride and stubborness get in the way much more often than I want them too. Help cleanse me of them. Remove them from me and place your desires in my heart! Make me who You want me to be in Jesus mighty name, AMEN!
