La Bamba & the Flintstones
we do 2 in worship
La Bamba
Oh Lord I want to sing your praises
I want to praise your name every day
Oh Lord I want to sing your praises
I want to praise your name every day
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia,
Alleluia
one of the most bizzarre experiences of my life was on a mission trip to Paraguay and Me, a bloke from Northern Ireland, teaching the LA Bamba bass riff to a guy from South America, where the tune originated from in the first place!!
And, the Flintstones theme.......
God's Love is the best love
That the world has ever, ever seen
Higher than the heavens
Even deeper than the deepest sea
Brighter than the sun the moon the stars
Farther than the Earth from planet Mars
God's Love is the best love
That the world has ever, ever
Could ever, ever
Will ever, ever know
We do 'em both as Kids songs.
I find that putting Christian Lyrics to other songs is problematic, as I'm either waiting for the punchline..... take a look at Weird Al's Jedi on You tube to see what I mean.... or I'm just singing the original.....

Re: La Bamba & the Flintstones
I know what you mean Martin, but if we keep singing the new versions long enough we will forget the originals. Or at least maybe our children will.
